JUDO VICTORIA INC

There is an upcoming Judo comp at Ulverstone, Tasmania programmed in for Sunday the 10th of November. Tasmania is a small Judo state, and only has 3 competitions a year and the Ulverstone competition is always a fantastic turnout but there are limited numbers in certain age groups so they are inviting other states this year to see if other clubs would be interested in making the trip over. The more the merrier. This is an awesome opportunity for any player to gain competition experience as divisions are a lot smaller than mainland competitions.
Ulverstone is around 15 minutes drive from Devonport and both are gorgeous towns with beaches on their doorstep.
Judo Tasmania looks forward to seeing you down there.

Congratulations to Aoife Coughlan from Resilience Training Centre on her well earned 5th place at the Tashkent Grand Prix.
Aoife defeated Kireeva from Russia with two nice throws in the second round. In the quarter final Aoife had some good attacks against Teltsidoou but the Greek girl caught her with a powerful attack. She went on to win the event. In the repechage final Aoife defeated Niang WRL 11 from Morocco by waza-ari to earn a place in the bronze medal fight. The bronze fight went into golden score against Rodriguez Elvismar who has 5 Grand Slam and 8 Grand Prix medals. Aoife put in a great effort, both players were unable to score but unfortunately after 1 minute into golden score the referees awarded Aoife her third shido giving the win to the Venezuelan girl. This 5th place gave Aoife another 252 WRL points towards Tokyo. Great effort Aoife, well done!
