The 2019 competition season has official ended today for our Australian athletes. Aoife Coughlan and Katharina Haecker stepped onto the mat for the last time in 2019 at the IJF Invitational World Masters event, where they competed against the top 36 athletes in the world. Both athletes started in the second round. Aoife defeated Gabriella Willems from Belgium by a massive Ippon to progress to the round of 16. Unfortunately she lost to former double World Champion Arai from Japan. Katharina unfortunately lost her fight in golden score to Renshall of Great Britain. Well done to both athletes for making it to the Masters and a big congratulations to Aoife and coach Daniel Kelly for finishing in the top 16. A great result for her at her first Masters along with a well earned 288 Olympic Ranking points. Well done to all our #teamAUS athletes, we look forward to an exciting 2020 ! πŸŽ‰πŸ₯‹ #Tokyo2020 Australian Olympic Team ... See MoreSee Less
